Mile High Karate Business Opportunity

Karate became popular in USA in the 1950’s. Then came Bruce Lee and what was once the combat method of some unknown monks became the “coolest” fad. It was in the heydays of Karate that Stephen Oliver, a 7th Degree Black Belt holder, started Mile High Karate School, which today has emerged as a top-notch franchising concept in the booming health franchise industry. Nowadays, physical training has gone down in schools, resulting in obese children who are ticking time bomb of serious diseases. That is why parents are again turning to karate schools not only to keep their children fit, but also to teach them self-control, patience and respect for elders. In fact, most of the time, they join their children and make the classes perfect place for family-bonding. That is why Mile High Karate schools have expanded to 20 locations, with plans of further development in near future.

To become a Mile High Karate franchisee, it is not necessary to be a black belt holder; an interest in the business, good financial background and a keen urge to succeed is all that you need. Once you join, the franchisor will make sure that you have all the necessary training in a 10-week “boot camp” training session where all aspects of running the school will be covered. As far as the instructor for your school is concerned, he/she too will be provided by your franchisor. You can also avail the instruction manuals, audios, videos, and software programs to enjoy a smooth-running franchising business.

Children as young as three enroll in Mile High Karate and stay till they get their Black Belts. The reputed brand name of this 20-year-old franchise and the advertisements it offers in the local media as well as at the national level makes sure that you always have a steady flow of students. The one-time franchise fee is reasonable. The Evolution Of The Cornhole

Chances are, if you’ve been to the midwest then you’ve heard of this game called cornhole. It’s the sport that has been growing like crazy all over the country, even the world. Never before has such a simple game been attractive to so many people. And to top everything off, all you need is some real basic equipment. Two boards, 8 corn hole bags, and you are set to go. But what is responsible for the surge in growth of the game? We’ll take a quick look and try to figure that out.

Cornhole has been around for decades, but only really started to gain traction over the past few years. It’s been rumored to have been started by some farmers who had some spare corn and some spare time. Later, a child version of the game called bean bags was introduced and for years it was known as a kids game. Around the late 90’s, midwestern cities started to see a pickup in this old game. Around that time, there was virtually nobody that sold the boards and bags so most people were left to fend for themselves by borrowing a friends set and copying the dimensions. You might be able to find someone to sew you some bags, but you better be prepared to pay a hefty fee for those. Starting in around 2003, cornhole dealers started to pop up online. Now you can throw a rock in any direction on the internet and find a dealer that can sell you a set out of his/her garage.

So how do you avoid finding a good set and not getting ripped off? Well online, trust is the most important thing when you are putting your credit card on the line. Do they have a phone number? If so, you might want to call it if you have any pre-sale questions. How quickly can they ship? A lot of dealers are doing this on the side so during the busy parts of the year they might be very swamped with orders. Packing a cornhole box is very time consuming so if they are relegated to nights and weekends, you could be waiting awhile for your set. As far as the bags, make sure they are regulation size and weight and come with some kind of guarantee. A company that doesn’t stand behind your products is not a company that is worth doing business with.

So that’s it. Cornhole has come a long way!

Old Programs To New Computer

It’s time to retire your old PC and enjoy some of the latest and greatest technology out there. There is nothing like setting up your new shiny PC with that great looking LCD and a high speed internet connection ready to go. I’m sure you want nothing more then to stomp on your old computer and run over it a few times. Before you can enjoy your revenge for all the system errors of the past you need to grab all your files first.

When doing a PC to PC data transfer of files you have several options. The first thing you need to decide is do you want to transfer over just a few personal files, user accounts, or all of the above with a few of your programs that you lost the disc to. Only once you have decided that can you really choose a method for a computer to data tranfer that suits you best.

If it’s only a few files you want then your job will be simple. Just burn the files onto a cd or go out and buy one of those cheap USB jump drives for 20 bucks and transfer your files that way. This method is only good for those that do not have a lot of files and more geared if you want a clean break from your old PC.

If you want your user accounts and custom settings along with your files then you have to use software to do this. The good news is Windows has a built in program called the Easy Transfer Wizard that is 100% free. You got to love that. You have several different methods of transferring the data over to the new system. If you have a network setup then that is the easiest way. If not then an External storage device like a USB hard drive or data transfer cable would be the next choice. Then CD’s and DVD’s. The down side is you can not transfer over programs or registry setting with this. For that you need to check out this old programs to new computer page. This is the only program on the market that will transfer over programs as well as anything else you want.

With the right tools and planning you can get the job done in no time at all. Be sure and run over you computer once for me. It may not of done me any harm but I’ll still enjoy it. Remember to hold onto your old hard drive if possible. It’s not all that hard to remove it from your computer. The reason for this is two fold. One so your data isn’t used by anyone and the other is just in case you forgot a file and need to get it back someday.

Developmental After School Programs: Practical Good Parenting Advice

As a child grows into an adult, different aspects of their emotional, physical and mental self needs development. To assist a child reach their full potential, it is essential to recognize the child’s developmental needs and abilities. To be effective, after school programs should help children with tasks they must accomplish during each stage of development.

A child’s growth curve can be divided into three main parts:
1) Young child (ages 3-5)
2) Middle school (ages 6-8)
3) Older school (ages 9-12)

The four important domains of development are: The Physical Domain, the Social Domain, the Emotional Domain and the Intellectual Domain. Each of these domains needs to be separately addressed during the various phases of a child’s growth. After school programs should focus on developing each domain as applicable to the age of the child. Although the children participating in these programs may have similar developmental needs and age, do not expect development to be uniform. Kids will develop as and when they are ready. They must to allowed to develop at a rate that is natural for them. They must never be pushed too quickly.

Physical:
When children are young, they want to perfect skills that they have just learnt to control. A variety of movements such as jumping, catching and throwing delight them. The middle school child, however, wants to learn more complex skills and get involved in team sports. This is also the best time to learn about rules and discipline in sport. The older school child is ready for more adult-like activities that require greater structure and discipline, such as dancing, gymnastics, music classes etc.

Social:
Young children are observing others and will be interested in games where they play the roles of family members. They develop short-term friendships and need an adult’s presence to reassure them. The middle school child is fascinated by the world around them and will love trips to factories, public buildings etc. They want to know the ’why’ and ‘how’ of things. The older school child is ready to learn about different cultures, food and customs. They want to do some amount of social work too.

Intellectual:
Young school children will practice what they are learning. Middle school children want to learn more skills and will show interest in reading, drama and problem solving. The older school children are ready to research and probe. They enjoy getting a puzzle and pondering over it.

Any after school program needs to address the interests of the child depending on the category they belong to.

A shared interest is a great way for a parent and child to connect better. And face painting is one such hobby. What kid does not like getting their face painted. And, of course, older kids can learn face painting too. And such skills are really useful for themed parties, Halloween; and for fund raising events too. Find out more
