Money Making Blog
The first lot of bloggers were not expecting to make any money from sharing their thoughts and ideas but many did make lots of the geen stuff. Some became minor celebrities and jobs were offered for top journalist positions at pretigious newspapers and magazines, even book deals were on the table. Nowadays though, a good percentage of the new blogs that are started (thousands an hour) are created with the author intending (or at east hoping) to develop a money making blog.
The experts say that to build a money making blog today requires finding a niche with little competition but plenty of traffic and then establishing yourself as the authority within that niche. Sounds simply until you find out there are several blogs created every second of the day. That’s 100’s of blogs a minute created on every subject you can imagine and beyond. Try finding your niche within all that competition!
Personally I avoid the above by creating my blogs on something that as yet is unheard of so doesn’t have any competition. That way I can establish myself as the authority well before Mr. Internet marketer hears about it and tries to grab the traffic. Feel free to check out my article showing exactly how I build a money making blog.
If you are going to try and break into an already busy niche I would suggest that just as important as the amount of competition is your passion and knowledge within the niche. This becomes even more important as search engines like Google are learning to recognize quality blogs rather than relying on their keyword analysis. Things like commenting and other web 2.0 activities like bookmarking are all seen as votes for your blog and people will only interact with a blog that offers something of quality.
Obviously you would be mad not to at least not check out your competition before devoting time and effort into starting a money making blog within a particular niche, just don’t get too hung up on what you find, that’s all. Check their page rank and what they offer and ask yourself “can I do better?” If you can, don’t hang around, start posting. You want to post at least once a day for the first 3 months and if you spend an hour a day building links that point to your blog, you will soon be in and amonst those top 5 sites yourself!
